HISTORY REVIEW WORKSHEETS

Day 85: Presentations and final review

Finished human geography projects.

Other keys to remember during presentations:
  • try not to walk back and forth in front of your projector screen
  • ask your group members to help in operating the computer to switch slides
  • when using cue cards/notes make sure you pause and give yourself time to remember your material to present (don't just read off of your document - for future presentations I will try NOT allowing cue cards)
  • When incorporating graphs and images, make sure you refer to these in your presentation (don't just put in an image/graph for the sake of putting one in)
Handouts: Review of government (Chapter 9 and 10).

Answer the matching questions with your group members.  Tried answering these questions, initially, without a book.  Remember - if you are completely unsure about an answer on the multiple-choice section use your "gut instinct" to make your final selection.

Tomorrow we will continue with review of SS11.
Please click on the link for a copy of key elements and Prescribed Learning Outcomes for this course.  Use this as a checklist for topics you should study.

Day 84: Geography presentations

Four presentations today.

During presentations remember to:
a) Make your powerpoint slides easy to read.  Too many slides during todays presentation were not easy to read (great images selected, but poor text colour made it difficult to see)
b) When dividing roles "equally" make sure that your roles are timed and somewhat equal.  Some group members dominated the presentation.
c) Eye contact means looking at the class when you are speaking.  Don't read an entire sentence off of your cue card and then look up when saying the final word.  This does not count as full eye contact.

Please print out the following outlines for "potential" provincial exam questions.

LINK to the group essay outlines

Day 83: movie and journal write

Day 81: Group work

Continue on group project.

Some of the groups need to communicate better.
If emailing a document please consider cc'ing everyone in your group.
We had some instances where material did not get sent to the intended person (but the student claims that the information was sent).  This will hopefully help to avoid any difficult situations that may arise with group work.

Continue to set a plan for what you need to accomplish.

Be accountable as a group member.
